Multicultural education is the process of developing all human potentials that value plurality and heterogeneity as a consequence of cultural, ethnic, tribal, and sect diversity (religion). Multiculturalism is an understanding, appreciation and assessment of one's culture and a respect and curiosity about the ethnic culture of others, not in the sense of agreeing with all aspects of these cultures, but rather trying to see how a particular culture can express value to its own members who are expected to work for everyone in the context of a society with diverse cultures. Diversity is characterized by differences, while unity is characterized by similarities. The concept of "Bhinneka" recognizes the existence of diversity or diversity, while the concept of "Tunggal Ika" wants unity. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is the motto of the Indonesian nation. The review model used in this research is narrative review, in which the study is a journal selected by the author by comparing some data obtained from several local and international journals reviewed by the author based on the author's experience, existing theories and models, and the results obtained. In this journal using research methods in the form of literature studies. Indonesia's body shape from the reformation is a "multicultural society of Indonesia". Regional differences gave birth to very diverse tribes, races, languages and arts. The high level of diversity makes it a multicultural country. Indonesia is an island nation, as a characteristic of Indonesia has a diversity of cultures. Thus, it is impossible for the Indonesian people to have the same view of life and philosophy of life with other nations. This is what is referred to as local genius and at the same time as the local wisdom of the nation. With this understanding, Pancasila as the philosophy of life of the Indonesian nation is currently under threat with the emergence of new values from outside and shifts in values that occur.Scientifically it must be realized that a society of a nation, always has a view of life or philosophy of life of each, which is different from other nations in the world. The basic principles that have been discovered by the founding fathers of the State of Indonesia which are then abstracted into a basic principle of state philosophy, that is Pancasila. National and state issues in Indonesia become increasingly complex and complicated when international threats occur on the one hand, on the other hand internal problems arise, namely the rise of people's demands, which objectively experience a life far from welfare and social justice. The great wave of international and transnational power through globalization has threatened, even controlled the existence of national states, including Indonesia. The rapid development of the world community, directly or indirectly, has resulted in major changes in various nations in the world.
